Smartwork was born from the belief that value shouldn’t be undervalued.
The Origin of Smartwork
In my 15 years of working with top professionals around the globe, one thing stood out to me: the biggest opportunity in the workplace is for companies to work smarter.
Doing “smart” work sounds like something that should be happening all the time.
Even at the largest, most successful FAANG companies, brute force workflows and short-sighted reward systems cause incredibly sharp and capable people to have their value wasted toward ineffective efforts.
So why does “smart” work evade most organizations?
Every business has an innate need for production in order to survive. But rewarding production alone is dangerous.
This is because we inherently assume high production equals high value. The reality is: it doesn’t.
It’s not that production isn’t necessary when it comes to business success — it is. Rather, it’s how that production is rewarded. Especially if it’s being rewarded more than value.
Distinguishing Production vs. Value Production
Value production is defined by meeting the following criteria:
1
Will this matter a year from now?
Is what you’re doing going to be foundationally impactful for the future? Expand your time horizon. Obviously there will always be production work that needs to be done, however, if you don’t make time to make things better, you’ll never improve.
Do you have an opportunity to get the same amount of impact with less effort, or more impact with the same amount of effort? Are you making things better, or are you just working?
Does this make my output more easily achieved or more impactful?
2
We don’t spend enough time and effort on work that actually creates value.
Smartwork is the solution.
Smartwork is a value-driven approach to progress. It’s a combination of systems, philosophies, and methods created to build and scale impact in the areas that matter.
It’s designed to create more engaged and productive employees, more effective work streams and a bigger bottom line.
The building blocks of Smartwork’s approach were designed upon the foundational idea that you get more of what you reward.
Smartwork starts with focusing on what really matters. It then rewards it, aligns it with bigger objectives, scales it, and develops high-performing leaders that breed and cultivate a culture of adaptability.
Smartwork organizations enjoy greater output, higher degrees of efficiency and happier, more productive employees — leading to an unmistakeable competitive advantage in their field.
Let’s make things better, together.
